PHOPA Officers Meeting June 3, 2025
Meeting called to order by Cindy at 4:30
Minutes Approved, May 1st Board and May 22 Business Meeting notes, Motion to approve Kevin second by Rick.
Treasures Report Approved, Motion by Kevin 2nd by Rick.
Sponsor and Doners Letters have been done by Cindy with the logo by Cindy.
Wings, Food, Cindy has some ideas with a food truck to present to the committee. Discussion was to let the Food Committee do the planning with a budget of $1000.00 per meal. Kevin has taken over the committees to help with the load.
Music for Wings, Cindy has arranged for the music for Wings. Total cost of $2000.00 for music for event. Board did not need to approve expenditures as it was approved many years ago for the over $500.00
Sponsorships to be as last year 250/500/1000. Jana Dalton has been given blessings by Cindy and NPPH to solicit in Corpus for donations. She has already gotten several.
Tickets will be as last year with a one day only, VIP and regular admission.
Silent Auction, Raffle items. Rick brought up a great idea of posting items on Website to encourage interest. Cindy has purchased one item of a Margaritaville Machine. Karen provided some surfboard info from Etsy to Cindy.
Security, Kevin will handle.
Goodie Bag, it discussed that towels will be the main gift again for the goody bags.
Cork Pull, it was determined that $20.00 is the cost of the cork pull as from last year.
Karen suggested golf cart transport due to remote parking location.
Club Business Meeting is scheduled for June 12th at the VFW at 6pm. Reps from the VFW, ARK and Salty Paws will speak briefly. Cindy indicated 3 minutes each. After the presentation it was suggested to poll the members for a vote as to the split in the future for the charities. At that time a motion will be put forward to approve the membership choice.
Discussed Future dates however, there are many places under construction and will continue into the new year. Cindy asked for ideas and I mentioned the Farley location as an alternative. I did provide Cindy with contact information previously. Tabled for now.
Website traffic after Secret Word, Rick had not had a chance to check the analytics of the event test.
It was addressed that Kevin will take over the Committees to assist Cindy with planning.
Karen suggested Planning Meetings in January to set up the year ahead for events and locations. It was also suggested to maybe look at quarterly smaller events, and to incorporate more monthly fund raising at Happy Hours, this recommendation was from the Charity Committee as well as a 3rd split between VFW, ARK and Salty Paws.
