About the Parrot Heads
of Port Aransas

The Parrot Heads of Port Aransas are a social and charitable organization inspired by Jimmy Buffett, his music, and the laid-back island lifestyle.

We're all about friendship, fun, and giving back. Whether it's getting together for happy hour, enjoying live music, spending time on the beach, or raising money for local charities, we believe good times are even better when they're shared.

And while Jimmy Buffett is a big part of our inspiration, you don't have to be a diehard fan or live in Port A to join the fun.

Our Story

The Parrot Heads of Port Aransas got their start in 2008, when Lu Ann Ferguson, a former member of the Dallas-Fort Worth Parrot Head Club, set out to bring the Parrot Head spirit to Port A.

An article in the November 13, 2008, edition of the Port Aransas South Jetty announced plans for the new club, with its first meeting scheduled for December.

The idea was simple: bring together people who enjoy Jimmy Buffett's music and laid-back tropical lifestyle for good times, friendship, and charitable activities.

That same spirit continues today. From happy hours and house concerts to beach parties, special events, and community fundraisers, the Parrot Heads of Port Aransas continue to do what Parrot Heads do best: Party with a Purpose.

There's Always Something Happening

One of the best things about being a Parrot Head is having plenty of opportunities to get together, meet people, and make lasting friendships.

Throughout the year, our members enjoy activities like:

Happy hours and potlucks
House concerts and live music
Beach parties and Moonfire bonfires
Community parades and special events
Members-only celebrations
Fundraisers supporting local charities and community causes

Some events are big celebrations. Others are simply a chance to catch up with friends. Either way, there's always something to look forward to.

Giving back to the community is an important part of who we are. Through fundraising events, charitable activities, and support for local organizations, we work to make a positive difference in the Port A community.

Our annual Wings Over Port A and Spring Phling fundraisers are two examples of how we combine good times with good causes.
